About us

Sun Juttu Oy is a small creative studio based in Finland, dedicated to bringing Nordic history to life through high‑quality 3D printed miniatures.
We design, sculpt, and produce historically inspired figures (especially from the Winter War and Continuation War) capturing real people, real equipment, and real stories in small scale.

The idea for Ukot was born by combining a passion for 3D printing with childhood memories of playing war games using Airfix miniature soldiers.

“Back in the day,” if you wanted to play with or build Finnish soldiers from the Winter War or Continuation War, your best option was to dig out some German Wehrmacht figures and carefully sand off the Y-straps and gas mask canisters and then use a bit of imagination.

Our mission is simple:
to honour Finnish history and craftsmanship by creating detailed resin miniatures that hobbyists can build, paint, and proudly display.

Every figure is printed in Finland, using carefully developed processes to achieve crisp detail and authentic poses. Whether you are a collector, painter, diorama builder, or a history enthusiast, we aim to offer miniatures that spark curiosity and keep our shared history alive through hands‑on creativity.

What Are 3D Printed Resin Miniatures?

3D printed resin miniatures are highly detailed figures created using a light‑curing resin. This technique allows for extremely sharp details—facial features, clothing folds, gear, weapons and textures that are often impossible to achieve with traditional casting.

Our models are printed with supports still attached, allowing hobbyists to finish, clean, and paint them according to their own style.

How to Handle and Prepare Resin Miniatures

Remove supports carefully
Use hobby clippers, a sharp modelling knife, or precision cutters. Resin can be brittle, so patience is key.
(Optional): Warm water can make supports slightly easier to remove.

Use a primer
Spray primers for miniatures work best (e.g., Vallejo, Army Painter, Citadel, Tamiya). Priming ensures the paint sticks and reveals details.

Paint with acrylic model paints
Acrylic paints from brands like Vallejo, Citadel, Army Painter, Scale75, AK Interactive or Tamiya work extremely well on resin.

Optional: Apply a varnish
A matte or satin varnish will protect the finished figure and add durability.

Important Notes

  • Resin figures are not toys and are intended for hobby use.

  • They can contain small parts and sharp edges.

  • Store and handle with care, and always keep out of the reach of children.
