When the Winter War broke out in 1939, Finnish soldiers went to the front lines with minimal equipment. Often issued only a cap badge (cockade), a leather belt, and a gun, the rest of their gear—especially winter clothing—was civilian. This spartan outfit became known as “Model Cajander,” a reference to Prime Minister Aimo Cajander, under whose government this level of preparedness had become the norm.
Despite the lack of proper gear, Finnish troops fought with unmatched courage and improvisational skill. They turned the frozen forests into a tactical advantage and made use of ingenious anti-tank methods—like jamming enemy tank threads with logs, or using homemade Molotov cocktails to disable armor.
This set includes:
✅ 4 solid resin figures in 1/35 scale (colours may vary)
✅ Authentic “Model Cajander” look: civilian winterwear, belt, submachine gun, and cockade
✅ Dynamic and historically inspired poses
✅ Supports still attached – ideal for hobbyists who enjoy prepping and painting their own models
A unique addition to historical dioramas, model collections, or as a tribute to Finnish wartime resilience.
